Greetings friends,
I’m excited to share with you about a significant development that will take place on this blog with the publishing of a special post tomorrow. Not only am I excited about the post itself, which is enough to get excited about, as I think you will see tomorrow, but also because it marks the launching of a new initiative that has been in my heart for close to a year now.
The initiative is called “The WORD in 3D”.
This blogging venture is distinct in that it is entirely Word-centered/Scripture-based, and it is unique in that it is collaborative in nature, engaging three bloggers per post.
Here’s how it works.
After seeking the Lord for wisdom and guidance, a small portion of Scripture is selected as the basis of the post. I then invite two other Christ-honoring bloggers to join together in creating a three-perspective post. Each blogger then independently writes between 300-600 words of Christ-centered reflection on that Scripture portion. When completed, these are compiled together into one post, lightly edited, if needed, and published.
In this way the WORD, referring first and foremost to the Lord Jesus Christ, and secondarily to Scripture, will be seen from three diverse vantage points, giving the picture a depth and clarity that could not be obtained otherwise. It will be kind of like viewing the WORD through 3D glasses!
There is considerably more that I could say about this venture at this point, but I want to keep this post short and sweet. For those who are interested in finding out more, I’ve added a permanent page to the blog that is a more comprehensive “About” page for this undertaking. You may access it here, or on the header bar, if you would like.
As passionate as I am about my regular blogging, this initiative excites me innumerable times more. I am excited to fellowship and work together with my brothers and sisters on these projects and to see how the Lord Jesus works in and through them. He is all for mutuality and the body working together, and He has promised to be in the midst when two or three come together in His Name. I expect and anticipate His presence and blessing in and through these projects as they unfold. Once published, these posts will also be open conversations that, I believe, will inspire those reading to add their perspectives and comments in as well.
I am greatly anticipating the publishing of the first project tomorrow. I’ve had the privilege and blessing of working with two wonderful brothers on it. Tune in tomorrow, for the pilot post, and then join in the conversation!

Wow, David. This sounds fantastic. I can’t wait. What a wonderful way to combine the two-or-three principle with the world of blogging (which is oftentimes an extremely individualistic and me-centered world!)

Thank you, Tobie. Yes, the principle of two or three is what excites me most about this venture. The Scripture that comes to mind is 1 Corinthians 14:29-31, “Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said. And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop. For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged.” In this context it might be paraphrased as: “Three bloggers should write, and the readers should weigh carefully what is said. And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down at his computer, let him comment. For you can all reveal the mind and heart of God in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged.” That is my hope and prayer. Thanks for your encouraging comment! Blessings!

Agreed. I have sometimes been concerned by brothers and sisters in non-traditional church groups sending out the message, knowingly or unknowingly, ‘we have it all together.’ David, I like your idea of ‘mutuality.’ It can only enrich us all and contribute to true unity in the body.
